If you scan the news on the Internet as I may have seen the name of "Mirthala SalinasÂ" rise. I saw the name, but had no idea who he was, or what made him important. So I dug deeper. Turns out, Mirthala Salinas is a television presenter of the television network in the U.S., Telemundo. Telemundo was Founded in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Angel Ramos in 1954, but is now U.S. based in Hialeah, FL .. He is known for being the second largest Spanish-language network in the U.S., just behind Univision. It is said to reach 93 percent of U.S. Hispanic households in 142 markets via over-the-air, cable and satellite TV.
Telemundo is also the only TV network that produces Spanish language telenovelas in the United States at present. Many of its programs air with subtitles in Spanish and English. Its owner, Telemundo Communications Group, is affiliated with the NBC Universal division of General Electric.
Mirthala Salinas, however, left its mark on the present day, because the news of her affair with Los Angeles Mayor, Antonio Villaraigosa has come to light. In a statement issued Tuesday, Villaraigosa admitted to their relationship, or a "relationship" as he calls it, with TV presenter.
"It is true that I have a relationship with Ms. Mirthala Salinas," Villaraigosa said in a statement released in Los Angeles Daily News. "As I said I assume full responsibility for my actions, and I once again ask that people respect my family's privacy. For my part, I intend to stay focused on my work, and work as hard as I can every day to be the best mayor that can be ".
It is reported that the mayor was a visitor in town house Mirthala Salinas bottle of wine in one hand and four months after taking office in 2005. Photographer Robert Durrell published photos of Villaraigosa and Salinas together in Sacramento at the same time. The reports also mentioned in Salinas was traveling along and covered the mayor. Salinas has this to say:
"I came to know the mayor at a professional level which went on to become friends," he said. "The current relationship grew out of our existing friendship. "
Salinas said that while she and the mayor "are public figures, I hope everyone can understand and respect my desire to maintain my privacy when it comes to personal relationships.
Reporter Eric Longabardi of ERS News.com has evidence that before of Mirthala Salinas became involved with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, she was the girlfriend of his close friend and ally, Fabian NÃ º Ã ± ez. Citing Longabardi:
A "Assembly Speaker Fabian Nunez, one of the best friends VillaraigosaÂ, also had a relationship with Salinas from the summer of 2003 until after of his inauguration as president of the Assembly in February 2004. The office of Speaker ERSNews.com confirmed that while the president divorced his wife Mary (who have remarried), Nunez and Salinas had a romantic relationship. Nunez Salinas attended the inauguration as President of the Assembly. Sources Salinas also say ERSNews.com regularly fly to Sacramento to see the speaker. One insider at Telemundo said Â'everybody in the press room knew all about it and management did nothing about a it. ""
Corina Villaraigosa and his wife, stopped appearing in public together in January. When asked why he no longer wore his wedding ring at that time the mayor laughed and said he simply had been working and losing weight, and the ring was in the jeweler are changing in size. Villagaigosa has since admitted that he and his wife are separated and are seeking a divorce. Salinas left the political beat about 11 months.
